Hangers

The main job of gutter hangers is to attach the gutters to your roof. They ensure that your gutter system is secure, stable and well-supported. Without these components, your gutters can be prone to issues like water damage.

Hangers are also typically use on houses that have crown molding.

Fascia

The fascia is the attractive board along the side of the overhang and the roof that helps your roof appear finished, not to be confused with crown molding (which is also decorative). Your gutter sits atop the facia board. The fascia is also known as a “transition trim” between the home and the roofline. The fascia supports the shingles and helps to keep moisture out.

So what one is better?

Both have their advantages but it is less likely that gutters will pull away from the home when installed on fascia.
