Furr-ever In Our Hearts

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our shop dog, Apollo. Apollo was our Repair Technician (JD’s) dog and best friend. Living next to our roofing shop, Apollo proudly took the role of our shop dog. Lending a helpful paw; or so he thought, he was always by the crew’s sides as they loaded their trucks each morning, ensuring they had all the right materials.

Apollo was a gentle giant. With a big brick head and heart of gold, you couldn’t help but smile when you saw him running your way. Never fully growing into his size, he pranced around the shop, ears flopping, smiling as he excitedly found a stick or ball to bring to you to play fetch.

His kisses were suffocating. He loved to love. From belly rubs to ear scratches, he welcomed all forms of attention.

When he wasn’t at the shop “working”, Apollo could be found strolling the block before and after work with his father. An avid lover of food, he enjoyed baby hot dogs from the Hot Dog Ranch and frozen yogurt from Ayelada’s; sprinkles and all.

Unfortunately, in January Apollo fell ill. Given 72 hours to live, he fought so hard and with lots of love, he miraculously was able to get his levels steady enough to return home and give us all a few more months to love him.

Sadly, Apollo’s levels began to drop again and he no longer could fight. We said “goodbye” to our furry friend Monday, March 7 2022.

The shop will not be the same without his sweet face bouncing around. He will certainly be missed, not only by his daddy but by the entire J Smegal team.
