With over 40 years of experience in residential and commercial new construction and renovations, Jay brings a deep well of knowledge—and the steady confidence of someone who’s truly seen every type of project—to the J. Smegal Contracting team. Over the years, he’s developed a passion for helping property owners understand their needs and finding the best solutions to bring their homes and buildings to the next level.

Jay holds a Construction Supervisor’s License, a Home Improvement License, and is OSHA certified, giving him the technical expertise and safety-focused mindset essential for high-quality construction and roofing work. Whether he’s evaluating a home, planning project details, or guiding an owner through options, Jay approaches everything with professionalism and attention to detail.

Outside of work, Jay enjoys time with family and friends, and taking long walks with his wife and their two pups, Maya and Willow—a perfect way to unwind after a busy day of helping homeowners.
